Where did the last five years go?

Sometimes your heart just fills with love from the simplest of things.

A father changes the number 5 on the birthday board he made his daughter when she was 1, to a 6. Where did the past 5 years go, he asks? Lamenting the rapid passage of time and his little girls growth.

She watches in wonder as the 5 disappears and the 6 takes it's place on the board for another year. What color should it be, her Daddys asks? Dadddy, she scolds, you KNOW pink is my favorite color!

She has such poise and self confidence, this little miracle. How did the world go around without her? I certainly don't know.
But I am so glad she's here now, to see the number change each year on the blackboard, to watch her grow  into a beautiful young woman and take her place on the stage of life.

She' s already on her way.

Happy 6th Birthday ,Piper.

We love you and count our blessings each moment we spend with you.

Anita and I are so fortunate to have shared 5 of the 6 birthdays. Your so right, she is quite a little lady. She also has two great parents to hold her hand as she turns the 6 into a 7 and a 7 into, well, you know what I mean.
